This morning in our team time Ruth shared a thought for the day focusing on Man shall not live by bread alone, and that the Bible is a book of love letters from God. We as a team can certainly feel the love of God surrounding us and really do value and appreciate all your prayerful support.
At the Holiday Bible Club, four new children came along. Amanda, the Vicar, did a wonderful talk on the Parable of the Lost Son, Joanne did the memory verse and Ruth did the quiz. The craft today was making people out of card who are joined by their hands, but one of the older boys, instead of cutting out people, cut out crosses, each one looking slightly different than the other. When asked why, he said ‘each one is different because each of us are different’. Makes you think…
Tomorrow at the Holiday Bible Club we are looking at the Parable of the Talents and I am doing the talk. Derek and mum (Heather) are doing the quiz and Julie is doing the memory verse. Also tomorrow there is a coffee afternoon from 2pm – 4pm in Carlton, at this I will give my testimony.
This evening we went to the neighbouring church of Burton Joyce for a healing service with a difference! The Vicar, Roger, had given me the title of ‘Healing of Body, Mind and Soul, and Healing of Communities’ to speak on. During the talk there were opportunities for people to ask questions about healing. Some of the questions asked tonight were relevant, valid, thought provoking and deep, it kept me on my toes. I was asked everything from do I believe in Angels to is it ok to pray for release for someone whose life is coming near an end. Joanne gave her testimony and again did really well, and it was obvious that people were listening and touched by what she had to say. Afterwards we offered the opportunity for prayer ministry. Almost everyone who attended came up for prayer. During the prayer ministry one lady came into Church crying and came up to us, she said she was so thankful that we hadn’t left as she wanted prayer. Her husband had just came through major surgery. God never ceases to amaze me…
We have a free evening tomorrow and hopefully will enjoy some well earned rest.
