Today started off pretty normal, just as every other morning with our team time and act of Worship. This morning Heather (my mum) brought the thought for today based on Psalm 121 and 1st Thessalonians 1 and how we need to continually look to God for protection and never let our guard down against the attacks of the devil. However, as the morning progressed we were told of how a healing had taken place in a member of our team who had been prayed for on Sunday evening at the healing service. This was and is nothing short of a miracle and we praise God for it. If you want to know the finer details, ask me sometime and I will tell you…
We had the Holiday Bible Club this morning in Carlton and as has been the trend every day so far we had new kids come along. Today I gave the talk on the Parable of the Talents, Julie did the memory verse and Mum and Derek did the quiz.
After the Holiday Bible Club I went to Colwick Church with Amanda the Vicar, as she asked me to pray through it and for it with her. There has been some hurt in the past by previous decisions made, and as a result this hurt is being passed through to future generations. We prayed for healing and release, among other things…
From 2-4pm we had a coffee afternoon in Carlton where a good number of parishioners and friends came together to enjoy each other’s company and to listen to me tell my testimony. At the end one lady was very moved by what she heard and wants to ask Jesus into her life.
Tomorrow is the final day of our mission in Carlton and Colwick. At the Holiday Bible Club we will be looking at the Parable of the Great Banquet and Julie will be doing the talk. Then later on in the evening there is a parish BBQ and family evening at which we will sing as a group ‘My hope is built on nothing less’, and the three children with us will also sing ‘this little light of mine’. I will also speak at this event.
This evening we had some free time, so we went to the Skidome in Tamworth, where some skied, some tobogganed and some drank coffee and watched the rest from the viewing areas. I must confess I took a little ‘me time’ and availed of the spa facilities and enjoyed a relaxing few minutes in a Jacuzzi…
Thank God for another day of safe travels and for the fun and enjoyment this evening
Thank God for the healing in our team
Thank God for the response of the lady at the coffee afternoon and pray that she will grow to love Jesus more everyday
Pray for every member of the team that we will continue to experience the Joy in our lives and be sheltered from the attacks of the devil (the team is Derek, Julie, Emily and Chloe, Leslie, Ruth, Jonathan, Joanne and Judith, Heather, Elaine and me)
Pray for the final day of Holiday Bible Club and for Julie as she does the talk
Pray for healing and peace in Colwick church
Pray for the BBQ and for me as I deliver the final talk of this week and that people will respond to the invitation to accept Jesus
