This evening I preached at the World War One Centenary Service in Colwick Parish Church on the topic of ‘The Supreme Sacrifice’ and took as my text ‘No greater love is there than this, than a man lays down his life for his friends’ John 15:13. At the end of my sermon (as I did yesterday) I put out the invitation to respond. Tonight we saw a real breakthrough with 8 people responding and asking for literature.
We did manage to have a couple of hours of free time this afternoon and went to Sherwood Forest, where we met Robin Hood, the Sheriff of Nottingham, Friar Tuck and Maid Marian. The weather has also been fantastic and we thank God for that.
Thank God for all who came to the Holiday Bible Club and the Service this evening
